Default Dervish order as a healer

I've been looking at this build for quite some time now : http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build/N_Arcane_Orders_Dervish, and I was wondering if any of you has ever used this or any other variant successfully on his own dervish.

I have no interest for this build on my derv hero, or when I H/H (being damage dealer is much more useful) except for some missions. I would mainly use it when I'm in a PUG, as healers are always lacking. Is this derv as effective as a monk or a resto rit?

Thx for the reply!

There's a smiley in the link, but it works anyway.

Using it consciously, yes.

PUGs might shun you for being different, but the build would help them a lot. I say go for it

I thought that build got killed with the update that changed a few of the skills.

Every time an enchantment ended, party members got healed for so much health, or something. With orders being tossed left and right, it was pretty useful

EDIT: Checked the exact effect on page history

Vow of Piety 5e 1/4 cast 8r
Enchantment Spell. For 20 seconds, whenever you lose an Enchantment, 1 ally in the area is healed for 5...41...50 Health.

IMO this build, even with the old vow of piety wasn't the greatest.

First off I'm not very fond of untargeted heals, whether they're "random party member" skills like Mystic Healing/preservation or "heals when condition X is met" like most paragon Motivation chants.

Second, the two orders are really only helpful to direct attackers, and one of them only really helps paras/warrs, and others only if they're slotting SY!

Finally, the one really reliable heal in the group is a touch skill. That in effects adds however many seconds it takes you to get to your target to the skills 3/4 of a second casting time.

I'd take a paragon with attribute points in nothing but Leadership, Command and Motivation before I'd take a dervish as a healer. Paragons have near-infinite energy and have party-wide heals, while dervishes need to spam skills in order to have energy, and even then they only have "random" heals.

i always put GDW if there are melees instead of piety or blood ritual sometimes. BTW whenever i go orders im praised afterwords for being a great healer and support for backline. Maybe its just me being good at it but id prefer running it instead of a scythe build

hmm so I have different opinions on this. I think I'll give it a try then! Akio, can you give a little more details on your gear and skills?

i usually take an all energy set with +1 on mysticism and wind prayers with a +1 mysticism on head. My bar is sorta settup like the generic orders for derv.

heres the code OgSjQoqK7SeXGCdC3X4XrigXlXA.

Thats when you have at least 2-3 attackers(rangers, wars, sins, dervs, paragons) and its great to bring blood ritual because if you got monk heros on the team you know they can be stupid. Best to bip them up once or twice if its a long fight. Found it extremely good in FoW NM.

Tips: you can take out GDW or BR for Dark Fury, but always stay near the backline. If anything gets through you must stay within touch range for dwyanas touch, its a great skill. Otherwise energy should never be a problem if you have all 4 enchants up.
